Torii GI arrested for drunk drivingDate Posted: 2009-09-24 A 24-year-old soldier assigned to the Army’s Torii Station in Yomitan has been arrested and charged with drunk driving by Okinawa City Police.
Police say they stopped the soldier assigned to the 1st Special Forces unit at Torii, and that the man refused to sign paperwork shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday. The incident occurred in the Okinawa City Chuo area, where police say they checked alcohol on the soldier’s breath. When he refused to cooperate and sign papers, police arrested the soldier.
