R&B Singers Get Silk Tattoos in KanjiBy: Chika Kobayashi Date Posted: 2000-02-27 ![]() ![]() Jimmy, one of the members, got a tattoo of the Kanji character for the Japanese word “Kinu” - which means “silk.” Jimmy got the tattoo on the lower part of his stomach, at a spot somewhat close to his intimate manhood organ. Recently, several music and sports stars, including basketball players and Hip-Hop singers, have been going the oriental body art way for their choice of tattoos. Foxy Brown, a famous female Hip-Hop artist, is known to be wearing a cute Kanji tattoo at the moment too. The group Silk was in Okinawa for its first time ever, and the singers had been to mainland Japan only once before their current tour. They told Japan Update that they would like to return in the near future for more concerts on the island. “We would really love to come back here for another show in Okinawa soon,” they said. Silk will be embarking on a tour of the USA as soon as they are over with their tour of Southeast Asia, their next major stop being in Korea.
