Okinawa City Crafts Fair 2019 showcases local handicrafts
Plaza House shopping center is the venue of one of the largest craft fairs in Okinawa. The annual Okinawa City Crafts Fair 2019 runs from Thursday, Mar. 14 through Sunday, Mar. 17 on the first, second, and third floors of the mall, where 67 handicraft studios and workshops bring their best works for exhibit and sale.

The fair features entertainment, handicraft exhibition events and hands-on experience chances for visitors throughout the event.
The winning handicrafts from the 17th Craft in Okinawa City contest that took place Mar. 1st and 2nd are exhibited on the third floor of the shopping center during the fair.

The booths for hands-on experiences are also concentrated on the third floor where visitors can try their own hand at painting of plaster Shisha, making Bingata and Chibana Hanaori coasters, making a wooden clock and making a leather key ring. There is also a paper making demonstration that takes place on Saturday and Sunday.
The fair is a must visit to anyone interested in Okinawan handicrafts and a very good experience for the whole family.
The fair is open every day from Thursday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Plaza House Hopping Center in Okinawa City. Admission the event is free. Parking is also free and available in front of the shopping center and the first and second basement.
