Man arrested for defrauding Nago bicycle shop

Police arrested a self-employed man in the Takahara district of Okinawa City, Feb. 15, on suspicion of fraud.

Mizoguchi is accused of swindling a bicycle shop in Nago of two road bikes and parts valued at about ¥1,180,000.

34-year-old Ken Mizoguchi is accused of swindling a bicycle shop in Nago of two road bikes, two sets of pedals and one bicycle frame valued at about ¥1,180,000.

Mizoguchi denies the charge and insists he was going to pay for the goods.

Acording to the charge, Mizoguchi talked the 32-year-old manager of the Nago bicycle shop into allowing him to take the goods over a year ago between Jan. 3rd and 5th 2018, promising to pay for them shortly.  When he failed to do so, the manager took the matter to police.
