Daiwa House to expand presence in Tomishiro

Daiwa House Industry Co., Ltd., Japan’s largest builder of pre-fab homes, has started work on the “Okinawa Toyosaki Town Project,” a large-scale commercial facility in the Toyosaki district of Tomishiro City.

The company started the foundation work on the site on Feb. 6th. The plan is to open the facility in April 2020. The new facility will be a four-story building constructed on a site area of 71,499 square meters. The construction area is 35,809 square meters with a total floor space, including parking, 135,000 square meters.

About 170 tenants, including a large super market and a large appliance store are scheduled to set up shop in the facility. Other tenants include “DMM Kariyushi Aquarium” adjoining the shopping center, the first in Okinawa. On the roof there will be a barbeque restaurant.

A miniature theme park is planned to be completed on fiscal 2021.

Daiwa House Industry Co. is well-established in the Toyosaki area being behind such landmark facilities as Outlet Mall Ashibina and condominium buildings.

Daiwa House Industry Co., Ltd. will be the commission entity for the facility, and Daiwa Information Service Co., Ltd. will operate it.
