Ryo Kiyuna wins 7th All Japan karate title
Ryo Kiyuna won his seventh Japan championship title on Dec. 9th at All Japan Karate Championship tournament in Tokyo.
Kyuna won his title in the men’s individual kata competition after winning all four rounds straight. In his final match he bested Takumi Sugino with annan.
After winning the championship, Kiyuna said that his win will inspire him practice harder for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo where karate is one of the new sports. He added that he aims to win gold at the games.
Among his achievements this year are three championships in the world championships, including one in the team competition. He also is this year’s champion in the Karate Premier League competition.
