Man arrested for opening bank account to use in fraud

Ginowan Police arrested Nov. 1st 41-year-old self-professed office worker Tadayuki Yamamoto, a.k.a. Lee Chunghen, in Oroku, Naha City, on suspicion of fraud. Police say that the man had opened a bank account using a someone else’s name.

The bank account was used to transfer funds in a fraudulent loan scheme.

Police say Lee has admitted to the charges.

Investigators say Lee opened the bank account in another person’s name at a bank in Naha early July and subsequently received a bankbook and cash card. He then used the account to transfer funds from the fraudulent loan scheme to someone else.

Police are still investigating the money trail and how the account was used.
