Jetstar inaugurates regular Naha-Singapore flights
Lui Tuck Yew, the Singapore Ambassador to Tokyo, made a courtesy call on Okinawa Governor Takeshi Onaga in the Prefectural Office, Thursday, as he visited the prefecture to attend the ceremony to welcome the first regular direct flight from Singapore to Naha.
During his meeting with the governor, Ambassador Yew expressed his wish to advance collaboration between Singapore and Okinawa in many fields, including tourism as the regular flight service between Singapore and Naha by Jetstar Asia Airlines started Friday.
The ambassador welcomed more visitors to Singapore from East Asia, including Okinawa. He said, “We in Singapore are very much aware of the possibilities offered by Okinawa.”
Onaga replied, “I think it’s possible to improve mutual development because of the regular flight service, and I am pleased if Okinawa can play a role in creating a win-win relationship.”
