Rain forecast for most of week ahead

Over the past few days, Okinawa region has been covered by high pressure with many clear weather areas, and hot summer days with temperatures of over 30 degrees observed at various locations in the prefecture.
The highest temperatures of 31.1 degrees were observed Friday on Ishigaki Island and Shitabaru, Hateruma Island. In Naha City, the temperature rose to 29.7 degrees.
According to Okinawa Meteorological Observatory, it will be mostly rainy this week due to a front that also officially ushered the rainy season to Okinawa and Amami islands north of Okinawa. The National Meteorological Agency declared the start of the rainy season Saturday on the two areas.
