Corona Sunsets Festival rocks Chura Sun Beach this weekend
Last year, Molson Coors Japan Co., Ltd, set up a seasonal bar at Chura Sun Beach in Tomigusuku to promote beverages and drinks produced by the Mexican brewer, Corona.
The Corona Sunsets Festival was part of the program, and took place in September. The second Corona Sunsets Festival takes place this weekend, in the middle of the summer. This year’s festival also marks the opening of the Corona Sunsets beach bar for this season.
The Corona Sunsets Music Festival started on the Spanish party island of Ibiza in the Mediterranean, from where it spread to Mexico, England, Italy, U.S. and Australia. The festival last September was the first on Okinawa.
The 2nd Corona Sunsets Festival takes place at Chura Sun Beach this weekend, on July 2nd and 3rd. The event opens at 13:00 on Saturday and the music starts at 14:00 and runs to 23:00. On Sunday the events ends at 21:00.
The program runs on two stages set on the beach. The Griffin Stage features DJ performances while live bands rule on the Crown stage.
Tickets are ¥4,000 for one day in advance for one day, or ¥6,000 for both days. Tickets at the gate for ¥1,000 more. Tickets are available on the event website.
Organizers note that minors under 20 years of age are not permitted and a photo ID is required as a proof of legal age. No tents, tarps, chairs, umbrellas, cooler boxes, pets, fireworks, pen lights, laser pointers, and outside food or drinks are allowed to the beach.
