Kadena civilian nabbed on suspicion of DUI in Naha

Naha City Police arrested a civilian employee of Kadena Air Base, Sunday, on suspicion of drinking and driving in Naha.

According to Naha Police, a police patrol stopped 33-year-old Christopher Smith after they noticed him driving a car with its number plate light off on a street in Naha about 00:45 Sunday morning. When talking to Smith, the police officer smelled alcohol.

The breathalyzer test showed more than the legal limit of alcohol in his breath, and he was arrested. Naha police say that Smith has denied the charge.
