Okinawa Satsang 2015 invites people interested in yoga and meditation
Okinawa is famous for being an island with strong spiritual aura and strong connections to its great nature. That is a natural reason for organizers of the biggest yoga event in the western Japan, Satsang 2015, to pick up Okinawa as the location for the three-day festival of yoga, meditation and music. The event is aimed at everyone who’s interested from beginners to advanced practitioners.
This is the second year that Satsang takes place on Okinawa. This year’s location is Murasaki Mura theme park in Yomitan. The event features top-class Yoga instructors, musicians and dancers from Japan and overseas on all three days.
A variety of yoga classes, including Ayurveda, a traditional system of medicine practiced in India, and Zen meditation are held from in the morning through the evening, both out in the nature and indoors. A fee to participate is charged for some of the classes while some are free. Check the details of each class, instructors and schedule at the Satsang official English language website at http://yogasatsang.jp/en/. The fee for classes ranges between ¥2,000 yen and ¥15,000. Tickets can be purchased on the website.
Each day after the sunset, it is live music time when rave parties and live collaboration performances of yoga and music are scheduled to take place.
The events on Friday, Oct. 16th start at 10:00, while Saturday and Sunday programs begin at 06:00, and run until 23:00 on all three days.
The venue is at Murasaki-mura at 1020-1, Aza Takashiho, Yomitan Village (https://goo.gl/B2Tlz5)
The venue has a variety of food stalls that sell vegetarian and other healthy and organic foods during the event. Other stalls sell a variety of yoga-related goods. There’s also a daycare service that is open until 18:30. The charge for the daycare is ¥1,300 per hour per child up to high school age. Details about the service in English are at http://yogasatsang.jp/en/about/
