Aha Dam Kuina Festival focuses on nature conservation
A one-day festival at Aha Dam in Kunigami in Northern Okinawa this Saturday aims at educating the public about conservation of nature in the forests and jungles of northern Okinawa.
The event organizers offer a selection of experience-based workshops and activities in nature that are geared towards preserving and conservation of nature in the Yanbaru area. Most experiences charge a small fee to participate, although there are also free workshops and dam cruises that are available to a limited number pf people to participate on first come, first served basis.
In addition to workshops and paid activities, there is playground for kids featuring wooden toys. Yanbaru Brass Band music performance and, of course, good food made of local Yanbaru ingredients are on the menu of the day, too.
