Camp Schwab opens gates for weekend festival
Head up north this weekend to spend time at the Schwab Festival on one of the most beautiful Marine Corps camps on Okinawa.
Along with fantastic beaches and scenery there will be fun and activities for everyone to enjoy. Visitors can try their hand at a variety of game booths, sample some delicious Okinawa and American foods, enjoy a static display of military equipment, and kids can play to their heart’s content at Fun Land.
The main attraction at Schwab Festival, however, is the entertainment lineup. In addition to a day filled with a variety of local acts, rock band Theory of a Deadman will be performing at 8 p.m.
Saturday. For more information and a full entertainment schedule, visit mccsokinawa.com/entertainment, find MCCS on Facebook or call (098) 970-5821. This event is open to all DoD ID card holders and Japanese. No one will be admitted with backpacks, pets, bottles, outside alcohol or coolers.
Accessing Camp Schwab, drive north on the Okinawa Expressway exiting at the Ginoza exit # 9. Upon paying your toll proceed to HIghway 329 where you will turn left driving north for approximately 15 minutes. Festival goers will access Camp Schwab via the main gate (Gate 1), following ground staff directions to designated parking areas.
