Six-year-old boy injured in hit-and-run accident

A car hit a six-year-old pre-school boy Monday morning on the road between Ueta and Iraha in Tomigusuku, and drove away from the scene without stopping.

According to Tomigusuku Police, the boy was crossing the street on a market pedestrian crossing when he was hit. He boy was knocked down and suffered an injury on his right arm. Police are looking for the car and investing the accident as a hit-and –run case.

Police say the accident site is a crossing near the city library where there is no traffic light.  The boy was on the way to school with three of his friends.  The boy himself called the Tomigusuku Police to report the incident.

Around the end of last year, another elementary school boy was a victim of a hit-and-run accident at the same location.
