Okinawa to train bilingual diving guides
As part of its drive to attract more international tourists, Okinawa Prefectural Government announced a plan to train diving guides who are able to communicate in a foreign language.
According to the plan, the government will begin training the guide divers within this fiscal year. Eight divers will be recruited for the positions by August. The applicants must have knowledge of another language, and they will be taught the expertise and skills that are required from diving instructors.
