Welfare in Okinawa highest on record

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare announcement on Apr. 2nd, over two million persons in Japan receive welfare. That is 707 more than last year.

Last four months in a row the number has grown worse each month reaching the highest level ever.

In Okinawa, a total of 22,745 persons not including Naha City receive welfare payments in 16,187 households. In Naha City only a total of 11,684 people and 8,568 households receive payments those numbers also being the highest on record in Okinawa.
