Awamori tasting in Taiwan

Awamori Meister Association held an awamori tasting event for professionals in Taiwan, Feb. 28, to increase awareness and push awamori exports to the international market.

The meeting was held at a Japanese restaurant in Taipei with some 40 restaurant owners and managers attending. He reception among participants was positive. “Apart from the Japanese sake and shochu, I wasn’t aware there is another Japanese liquor that is so tasty”, said one participant.

Awamori Meister Association chairman Katsunobu Arakaki said, “The response was amazing. Now we know how little the Taiwanese knew about awamori. Hopefully this leads to many orders in the future.”
