Chamber Orchestra IO to perform second regular concert Thursday

Chamber Orchestra “IO” plays Russian music at Palette Kumoji Theater, Thursday.

Ryukyu Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra “IO” will hold the second of its scheduled regular concerts at Palette Kumoji Theater on Oct. 31st.  The chamber orchestra held the first of its scheduled season concerts July 18.

The concert features music by Russian composers and includes Tchaikovsky’s Melodrama from The Snow Maiden and Souvenir de Florence; Alexander Borodin’s Nocturne, Dmitri Sostakovich’s Romance from the Gadfly, and others.

Conductor Eisuke Fujino conducts the concert.

The concert takes place at Palette Kumoji Theater on the 9th floor of Palette Kumoji Bldg. in Naha, starting at 7 p.m. with doors opening 30 min. earlier. Tickets cost ¥3,000, and are available at Palette Civic Theater (098-869-4880), Ryubo Department Store (098-867-1171), Bunkyo Harmony NAHA (098-854-1313), and Fukuhara Music Store (098-938-9375).

Members of the Ryukyu Philharmonic Orchestra organized the chamber orchestra “IO” in order to enhance Okinawa classical music scene.
