And this week’s winner is…

Simone Tattersall is the lucky winner of this week’s JU raffle She will enjoy an authentic American style burgers at the 50’s Café with a ¥2,500 meal ticket that was the prize this week. The 50’s Café is located in Ishikawa, Uruma City, near Camp Courtney, and regular customers of the restaurant swear its burgers to be the best on Okinawa.

Simone is originally from Bulawayo in Zimbabwe, Africa. Bulawayo is the second largest city of Zimbabwe after its capital Harare, and the center of the country’s business activity.

She has lived on Okinawa about one year, and is scheduled to stay until April 2015. She say that Okinawa is wonderful, but adds that it’s also too hot often. “Although my hometown is in Afica, it’s a bit cooler on average, and a lot less humid,” she says.

The two best things on Okinawa for her are soba and Okinawan culture. “I love both, and will miss them both after I leave this island,” she says.
