Naha fire destroys three houses, no injuries

A private house in Yogi, Naha City, caught sire at 8 a.m. on Sunday, and the fire spread to two neighboring houses as well. All three one-story buildings were totally destroyed.

Naha firefighter managed to put off the fire by 9:30 a.m.

Residents living in the houses were evacuated, and none suffered any injuries.

All houses that were destroyed were wooden, tile-roofed structures that were separated by cinderblock walls. One of the houses was empty, but a 61-year-old woman occupied one, while a 75-year-old couple resided in the third house

Naha Police and Fire Department are investigating the cause of the fire and why it spread from house to house so easily.
