Police bike, bicycle crash
イruma Police announced that a 36-year-old police officer riding on his motorcycle crashed with a bicycle at a crossing in Uruma City at night on Oct. 6, and two junior high school boys aged14 and 15 sustained light and serious injuries including a broken leg.
The police officer broke his shoulder bone.
According to Uruma Police, the accident occurred about 7:30 p.m. on October 6.
The motorcycle running straight hit the bicycle, which the boys were riding on and crossed the intersection in front of the police officer.
The accident occurred as the policeman was finishing his shift at work and was on the way home.
The site of the accident is a crossing road that has a traffic signal, and investigators are trying to determine which one of the two sides ignored the signal.
