3,000 expected to join Sunday’s Marine Cup

Chura-Sun Beach in Tomigusuku is the venue for weekend’s Marine Cup games that feature 16 different sports events.

Open water swimming, beach soccer and beach volleyball are among 16 events wrapped into this year’s Marine Cup in Okinawa, a comprehensive outdoor series of activities in Tomigusuku City.

Everyone is invited to the weekend Marine Cup to compete for prizes.

The weekend Marine Cup in Okinawa at Toyosaki Chura SUN Beach is expected to attract 3,000 participants, about triple what showed up for the first-ever event a year ago.  The two-day event is open to all competitors.  A Japanese only website provides more details of the water sports; http://www.shakai-sc.or.jp/marinecup/.
